How to Directly Insert a PDF into your WordPress Blog

The PDF format is a great choice when you want to share some content that is in a longer forme with your readers – such as an eBook or brochure.
PDF is great because it looks the same no matter what type of device or operating system you are viewing it on.
The formatting will stay the same whether your readers are accessing it via desktop computer, tablet or smartphone.
Allowing your blog readers to download something you have written as a PDF is great, especially if the content is plentiful. It allows them to save it and read it a little bit at a time when they have the time. Most web browsers support the opening of PDFs directly within the browser, so accessing them has never been easier.
If you are using WordPress, one of the most popular blogging platforms around, inserting a PDF into your blog is incredibly easy.
Once you have logged in, head over to your Media Library and click “Add New.”

Choose the PDF that you want to place on your blog by clicking on Select Files.

Click on edit to see the link to your uploaded document. This is the link that you can use to view the PDF directly.
You can now copy this link URL and share it in any way you want to on your blog. You can include the link in a post, share the link via email, or promote it in a variety of other ways.

We were using PDF as an example for this, but in reality, you can do this with just about any type of document format, including popular Microsoft Office formats such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
However, the PDF is most convenient since it can be viewed directly in the browser. If you were to place a link for a Word file, for example, your readers would have to download the file and then open it in word, instead of just being able to read it in the browser.
Regardless, it’s a great way to include documents into your blog without having to store them independently outside of your WordPress dashboard.
