Mangaka Linux is a GNU/Linux operative system based on Ubuntu. It's especially developed for the specific needs of the otaku community,
including by default programs for fansubbing, web browsing, multimedia playback and creation. Also, it uses a lightweight window manager (LXDE), in order to reduce the minimal system requirements for usage. Developers claim that this distro allows to play back high resolution videos (720p) in a netbook.

Development team
Mangaka Linux is developed by a group named AnimeSoft International, a community formed mainly by Linux users and fansubbers, which develops this distribution on their spare time, which they codename AngelOS (Anime GNU Empowered Linux OperatingSystem).
Releases
By the moment, Mangaka Linux has only one distribution, dubbed Mangaka Linux One, in DVD format. There are plans for early2010 to release a second distribution, named Chu (word game with "Two"), which is planned to be distributed both on DVD and in a set of CDs.
