Learning Wordpad

How to open wordpad?

Go to start (windows icon) – all programs – accessories – wordpad.
  • File Menu

Create a fresh new document:

Type any text then go to file option or go to right corner from upper side (office button).Now click on New or press Ctrl + N from keyboard.

Open a file:

Go to file option or go to right corner from upper side (office button).Now click on Open and chose your location where has your document or press Ctrl + O from keyboard then click open.

Save a text file:

Type any text then go to file option or go to right corner from upper side (office button).Now click on save or press Ctrl + S from keyboard and after set save in location then type the file name , Save.

Exit from wordpad:

Type any text  then Go to file option/click on blue icon (which is called office button) from upper side to left corner then click on exit.

Save a text file more than one time:

Type any text Go to file option/click on blue icon (which is called office button) from upper side to left corner then click on Save as then set save in location and type the file name then save.

Page setup for print:

Go to file option/click on blue icon (which is called office button) from upper side to left corner then click on Page setup then set the paper size and set margin then OK.

Print a text file:

Go to file option/click on blue icon (which is called office button) from upper side to left corner then click on Print or Press Ctrl + P from keyboard then set number of copies then apply then Print.
  • Edit Menu

Recall the past work:

Type any text then go to edit option then click on Undo or Press Ctrl + Z from keyboard.

Cut a text:

Type any text then select a text then go to edit option or Home option then click on Cut.
By pressing from keyboard Ctrl + X

Copy a text:

Type any text then select a text then go to edit option or Home option then click on copy.
By pressing from keyboard Ctrl + C

Past a text:

At first copy a text then put the cursor when you past then go to edit or Home option then click on Past.

Note: which text was last time copy or cut, there past the text.

Delete a text:

Type any text - select any text then go to edit option then clear or by pressing Delete key from keyboard.

Find out a text:

Type any text then go to edit option then find or by pressing Ctrl +F from keyboard then type find what then set direction Up/Down then find next.

Replace a word:

Type any text then go to edit option then replace or Press Ctrl + H from keyboard then type find what then type replace with then find next then replace/replace all.

Select all text:

Go to edit option then select all or press Ctrl + A from keyboard.

Find next automatically:

Go to edit option then find next or press f3 key from keyboard.

Note: which word was last time find, find next work on that.

Convert a text to picture:

Type any text then select the text then go to edit option or Home option then click on cut then click on past special then click on Picture(Meta file) then click OK.
  • Insert Menu

Insert date and time:

Go to insert option then click on Date and time.

Insert a micro picture:

Go to insert option then click on Insert object then click on Microsoft Word Document then click OK. Now go to insert option then click on picture then insert then bring to file then close and returned.
  • Format Menu

Set font of text:

Go to format option or Home option then go to font then set font, set font style, set size, set effect, set font color then see sample then OK.

Insert any bullets style:

Go to format option then bullets style.

Set paragraph:

Type any text then select the text then go to format or Home option then click on Paragraph then set indentation Left/Right/ first line then set alignment then OK.

How to View status bar?

Go to view option then click on Status bar.

How to View ruler?

Go to view option then click on Ruler.

How to View toolbar?

Go to view option then click on toolbar.

How to View format bar?

Go to view option then click on format bar.

How to set  Word Wrap?

Go to view option then setting  option then click on Wrap to window.
